Good Cracking Program for Crackmes

I need a good program the one I am trying to use isn't working, or maybe it's user error . Can anyone suggest a good noobie app.

Are you looking for tools ?
What do you use ? Why can't you make it work ? What is your level in cracking/reverse engineering ?
Good tools on Windows are OllyDbg and IDA, depending on the language used in your target other tools might be necessary (DeDe for Delphi, Sothink for Flash, .NET Reflector for .NET, VBDecompiler for VB...)
